Charleston, S.C.— Please join Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and Consulate General of Barbados to the United States Southeast Neval Greenidge for the official signing of a Charleston Sister Cities International partnership between the cities of Charleston and Speightstown at 12:30 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2019 in City Hall Council Chamber, located at 80 Broad Street.
The partnership is designed to foster and strengthen relations between the cities by encouraging exchanges and supporting the development of new social, economic, tourism, academic and community programs.
Also in attendance to witness the signing will be Barbados Honorary Consul to South Carolina Rhoda Green, Charleston Sister Cities International Co-Chair Chip Limehouse and President and CEO Neita A. Wiese, Charleston City Councilmember and Charleston Sister Cities International Liaison Peter Shahid, Charleston County Public Library Chief Historian Dr. Nic Butler, and South Carolina Historical Society Vice President of Development Ginny Zemp.
